What is Skrill Money Transfer and how do I use it?

Skrill Money Transfer allows you to send money abroad free of charge to third party bank accounts or mobile wallets. Transfers are processed within up to two business days (depending on the destination) and are carried out in the recipient’s local currency.

 

How do I send money using Skrill Money Transfer?

    1. Log in to your account, click Send and select International Money Transfer, or visit our designated page directly.
    2. Fill in the amount that you would like to send and click Continue.
    3. Confirm who are you sending money to – to yourself or to someone else. Fill in the required recipient details (we store them for future transfers) and click Continue.
    4. Review your transfer details and click Confirm.
    5. Choose the payment method* and complete the transaction**.

* If you have selected Instant bank deposit via ACH and your bank account has not been previously verified, you would not be able to use it. Click Pay with new bank account, select your bank from the list and fill in your online banking credentials.

** If you have selected paysafecash, you will be redirected to the paysafecash website, where you should either create a paysafecash account or log in to your existing one. As soon as you login, a barcode will be issued and displayed to you. You can send the code to your email address or request to receive it via SMS. From then on, you’ll have 12 hours to visit a nearby cashier and complete the payment using this barcode.

 

What payment methods can I use?

Currently, you can use your bank account, a credit/debit card or paysafecash as a payment method for Skrill Money Transfers.

 

What fees do you charge?

Skrill Money Transfers are free of charge. Currency conversion fees apply in accordance with our fees schedule. Note that a separate fee might be imposed by your bank.

 

How much can I send and how to increase my transfer limits?

You will be notified on-screen once you enter an amount that is higher or lower than the set limit. You can also find the transfer limits here.

 

What currency does the money arrive in?

The Skrill Money Transfer will be processed in the receiver’s local currency.

 

Why can’t I use my Skrill balance with Skrill Money Transfer?

Your Skrill balance needs to be kept separate for security and compliance reasons.

 

Does the recipient need to have a Skrill account to receive money?

No, a Skrill account is not required to receive money using our Skrill Money Transfer service.

 

What happens if my Skrill Money Transfer fails?

If your deposit fails, you will receive an automated email with the transaction details.

If your deposit was successful, but for some reason the Skrill Money Transfer fails or is cancelled, your payment will be refunded back to your bank account/card as fast as possible. In case you have funded your transfer with Paysafecash, we will issue a cheque for the full transaction amount and deliver it to your registered address within 10 days.

Is it secure to send funds using Skrill Money Transfer?

Skrill is developed with the same demands on security and performance as the sites used for bank services and share trading. Your account login, personal details and all money transactions are secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with high security 128-bit encryption, certified by VeriSign. When you send a payment using Skrill, the recipient will not receive sensitive financial information such as your bank account number.

 

Can I set the amount that will be received?

Yes, just click the They Receive field, and you can set the amount which is going to be received. The amount you need to pay will then update automatically.

 

Can I cancel my transfer?

You can cancel the transaction within 30 minutes after it has been successfully initiated*. Once the 30 minutes pass, the transaction becomes irreversible.

To cancel a transfer, go to My Transfers.

* If you’ve funded your transfer with Cash, you’ll have a second 30-minute window to cancel the transfer after you have made the barcode payment.
