What is Skrill Money Transfer and how do I use it?

Skrill Money Transfer allows you to send money free of charge to third party bank accounts.* The transfers are processed within 24 hours after the they have been sent to the recipient and are carried out in the recipient’s local currency.



How do I send money using Skrill Money Transfer?

  1. Log in your account and click Send and select Skrill Money Transfer or visit the designated page directly.
  2. Fill in the amount which you would like to send and click Continue.
  3. Next you will have to confirm who are you sending money to – to yourself or to someone else*. Type the required details of the recipient, which are stored for future transfers and click Continue.
  4. A confirmation summary will be shown on your screen.
  5. Select the payment instrument which you would like to use for the transfer and click Pay* 

*If your bank account has not been previously verified, you would not be able to use it. Click on Pay with new bank account, select your bank from the list and type your online banking credentials.



What payment methods can I use?

Currently, you can use your bank account or a credit/debit card as a payment method for Skrill Money Transfers.



What fees do you charge?

The Skrill Money Transfers are free of charge. No currency conversion or funding fees are being applied.

Please note that a separate fee might be imposed by your bank.



How much can I send and how can I increase my transfer limits?

You will be notified on-screen once you enter an amount that is higher or lower than the set limit. You can also find the transfer limits here.



What currency does the money arrive in?

The Skrill Money Transfer will be processed in the receiver’s local currency.



Why can’t I use my Skrill balance with Skrill Money Transfer?

Your Skrill balance needs to be kept separate for security and compliance reasons.



Does the recipient need to have a Skrill account to receive money?

No, a Skrill account is not required to receive money using our Skrill Money Transfer service.



What happens if my Skrill Money Transfer fails?

If your bank deposit fails, you will receive an automated email with the transaction details.

If your deposit was successful, but for some reason the Skrill Money Transfer fails, your payment will be refunded back to your bank account as fast as possible. To see the status of every transfer you make with Skrill Money Transfer check the My transfers section.

Note: Please make sure you enter the recipient’s details correctly – phone number, IBAN, beneficiary’s names.



Is it secure to send funds using Skrill Money Transfer?

Skrill is developed with the same demands on security and performance as the sites used for bank services and share trading. Your account login, personal details and all money transactions are secured using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with high security 128-bit encryption, certified by VeriSign.

When you send a payment using Skrill, the recipient will not receive sensitive financial information such as your bank account number.



Can I set the amount that will be received?

Yes, just click the They Receive field and you can set the amount which is going to be received. The amount you need to pay will then update automatically.



Can I cancel my transfer?

You can cancel the transaction within 120 minutes after it has been successfully initiated. Once the 120 minutes pass the transaction becomes irreversible.
