How do I verify my account?

To start using your Skrill account you are required to verify your identity. You can start the verification process by clicking on the banner visible in your account or by going to the Verification section under Settings.

At the first step you will be prompted to provide your personal information (e.g. full name, address, birth date), as well as your social security number. You may also be presented with a set of knowledge-based questions to which you will need to answer to continue with the verification. Once done, you will receive the message that you have successfully verified your identity.

Although this verification process is automatic you may be asked to provide additional documentation to confirm your identity.

You will be asked to:

  • Upload a color copy of your ID such as identity card, driver's license or passport.
  • Take a picture of you holding your identity document next to your face.
  • Verify your location by sharing it via your browser or upload a proof of address document (e.g. utility bill or bank statement issued within the last three months).   

You will have the option to complete some of the above verification requirements also by using your Facebook profile.

Once the verification process is fully completed you will receive an onscreen and email confirmation.
